Signed up for BufferApp Jan 21st and so far, I think I’m liking it.
What is BufferApp, you ask? BufferApp is one of the many tools available to schedule tweets or Facebook posts. I’ll write about other Twitter tools in the near future. But for now, let’s talk about BufferApp.
My BufferApp Review List
Dashboard
– Set up is pretty user-friendly. No clutter and you can see all the accounts you want to post to at a glance.
Link Shortener
– I have it set up to my Bit.ly (link shortener) account. I’m loving that, since it’s all pretty accessible. Other Twitter tools allow you to use link shorteners, but you will have to toggle back and forth between the two. So I like this feature that it’s all in one spot.
Goodies
– I use Safari web browser so I’ve installed the BufferApp icon there so it’s very convenient for me to tweet about something I see on the web that I want to share with just one click of a button.
Notifications
– You can set it up where you can be notified of when your BufferApp is empty! This means, your scheduled tweets have all been posted and you need to add more. How cool is that? It’s like having a virtual assistant, for free!
Analytics
– You can see which tweets you sent out had more clicks, reach, retweets, mentions and if anyone marked them as favorites. This can help you make adjustments on what and how to send your future tweets. And also use this as your means of identifying who to engage with! A very good practice in social media – ENGAGEMENT!
Profile
– You can add another profile on your dashboard, much like HootSuite. So you can schedule tweets to your other social media outlets. I have mine set to also post on my Facebook Page as well. Also great if you’re managing several social media accounts!
Twitter versus FB Page
– To go with the “Profile” feature that I like as mentioned above, love the fact that I can tweet accordingly between different outlets. Which means, Twitter can be more abbreviated (140 characters or less) whereas more wordy with thumbnail photo included on FB Page. I think this really utilizes SEO, if you use the right keyword(s) you’re trying to be indexed for.
Schedule
– You can schedule the day and time of when you want your posts or tweets to go out. And if you use Crowdbooster or Facebook Insights or the like, then you can really use it to maximize your reach.
Last but certainly not least…….
It’s FREE!
– You have 10 posts you can use for free. You get one Twitter and one Facebook account. Free browser extension. Free mobile apps. And use of your Bit.ly details. More than that you’ll need to upgrade. You can always check out their pricing.
As I’ve mentioned, social media is about engagement. As my motto in life, “Everything in Moderation.” Use this tool and any other automated tools in moderation. People love to be social. We love to engage. We love to talk with a live person. Don’t let an automated tool take the place of real human interaction. Keep it real!
So what do you think, will you be checking out BufferApp soon? Let me know! And if you are using it, let me know what you think of it. Or maybe you’re using another tool to schedule out your tweets, in which case, I’d like to know your thoughts on those too as well!
‘Til next time….

I just started using the Buffer app on my iphone and I like it. I know we are all about engaging but there comes a point, with promotional tweet, that an application is needed. This is one good app!

“There’s got to be an app for that!” Of course! Talk about multi-tasking to the fullest. So far, I’m really liking it. There’s just not enough hours in the day to do all that we need to do to engage with our community. So a nice, reliable tool like BufferApp is a life saver!
Thanks for the comment Martha!

Hey Jocelyn,
Thanks for posting this! I have been wondering what the BufferApp was all about, and you answered many of my questions! I will definitely be setting up a profile in the very near future! This will come in handy in getting more word out about my site, I’m sure! One can never put themselves out there enough, right? 🙂
Wonderful post, and thanks again for sharing it! 🙂

Hi Jocelyn,
Thanks for a bufferapp review. Yes I just started (over a week ago) this app and let me just say, I’m happy with that.
The only one thing I need to point out is that there is a limit of tweets/FB updates per day when using free option. But so far it’s really time-saving nice app.

You’re right Klaudia. I believe I mentioned 10 posts limit. More than that you’ll need to upgrade. Which with 10 I think should be good, the rest be left for human interaction. Glad you’re liking BufferApp!
Thanks for the comment, always appreciate it!
Enjoy your day!
Jocelyn
This is all FANTASTIC info, Jocelyn, thank you very much for sharing, you are appreciated.
Hi Zoe!
Nice to see you here! 🙂 Glad you appreciated the BufferApp Review. I’ll see you again, OK?
Make it FABULOUS!
Jocelyn
Great post Jocelyn! I tried BufferApp a while back and liked it as well. I usually use another for my scheduled posts, but they are transitioning soon and not sure how much longer they will be free… BufferApp may be seeing a lot more of me really soon. 😉

I have heard a lot of folks using this service but I admit I am still a die hard TweetDeck user. I can still do most of the things with it that you are saying Buffer App can do except tell me when my scheduled tweets have run out and analytic’s.
Hi Joe,
I use both HootSuite and BufferApp. I kind of like using both. Tried TweetDeck about a year ago, but opted for HS. Maybe I’ll go check them out again and write a review. It’s great to have options. 😉
Thanks for the comment.
Jocelyn

I have been in awe with the features I wrote about BufferApp, which is why I wanted to share with my readers. I’ll make sure to let you know as I use it more if I have any questions or have any suggestions to offer. So far I’m loving it!
Thank you!

Thanks Jocelyn. I’m gonna sign up with Buffer App. in the future. I was so concern about being real that I avoided any tool. Your review convinced me that I can be real even more if I can be helped in some preparation work. I’m quite puzzled by analitycs. Great post

Hello Fabrizio!
I agree that nothing replaces real human-life interaction. However, there comes a time when we really just need some extra assistance. And I found that BufferApp does not disappoint! Let me know when you try them out and if you have any questions.
